Active Baby Henn

So it is only natural to assume that the baby is going to be an athlete since Mommy and Daddy are both athletes but baby Henn is very active early.  Mommy started feeling "flutters" around week 15/week 16 and daddy has already started feeling the baby kick at the end of week 18.  The doctor said Scott would not be able to start feeling it move until about week 25 so it is awesome that we can already feel it!

I am very excited to say that I have been feeling awesome for the past four weeks! I am hoping all of the migraines are gone! It is so nice to be feeling like myself again.  I am back to working full time so I hope the migraines stay away!

Scott and I head to the doctor tomorrow for our 20 week ultrasound! We are very excited to see how big the baby is getting.  We will make sure that the technician does not tell us if it is a male or female.  It is very exciting that we are almost half there! So excited to meet baby Henning! More after the appointment!

Here I am last weekend at 19 weeks along!

Week 17 Prenatal Appointment

The prenatal appointment on Friday went well! It was pretty uneventful, which I feel is a good thing.  I got to listen to the heartbeat which was about 158/bpm.  We discussed what the neurologist said about the migraines and my OB said all of her ideas for prevention were good.  We talked about what the baby moving should feel like.  I do believe I have started to feel it move.  Just slightly, when I am laying down on my back or sitting still.  I am looking forward to more action! After the appointment I had to get some blood work done and will have the results of that at the next appointment with my OB.  The next appointment we have is May 30, 2014.  This is when we will get an ultrasound of the baby and could find out the sex of the baby.  As most of you know, we have decided to wait to find out the sex of the baby until it is born.  So we will be sure that the doctors do not show us all parts of the body.  We are looking forward to seeing how big the baby is.

I am very happy to report that I have still been feeling amazing, which has been so nice! I have been migraine free for 12 days.  Each painfree day really is a blessing.  I have been to able work more and do more of my household duties.  It has also given me some more time to actually enjoy the pregnancy.

This weekend we spent some time in the nursery getting the walls ready to paint.  We had wallpaper on the walls that we decided needed to come down, so we spent a few hours playing with that.

Thank you all for the kind words, prayers, and cards during the pregnancy.  It is so nice to have such awesome family members and friends.  I hope everyone had a fantastic Mother's Day!  More next week!

Week 16 update

Hello everyone! I hope all of you are doing well! I have been slacking the past few weeks because we have been traveling and I was struggling with a migraine.  Since our last post we celebrated our first wedding anniversary, traveled to Texas to spend Easter with family, then on to Chicago for a family wedding and celebrated the day we met on Kentucky Derby Day.  We have been busy busy with traveling and working.  Scott is back on the road this week for a work conference in California, I am very jealous that he is eating In N Out!

I have still been struggling with migraines.  We had hoped that they would go away in the second trimester but it does not seem to be the case.  The last one I had lasted for about 10 days.  A trip to the urgent care in Chicago and some meds finally gave me some relief.  I went to the neurologist last Friday and she gave me some ideas for migraine prevention such as acupuncture, B-2, some antihistamines mixed with anti-nausea meds, and a prescription for the new Cefaly Band.  Hopefully they will get better soon! Enough about the migraines. I am very happy to share that these past 2 days have been amazing! I have felt great! :)

As far as the pregnancy I am currently 16 weeks along.  I think I am starting to feel the baby moving a bit.  I am still not sure.  It is kind of like a fluttering but I can't figure out if it is just gas.  lol.

We have our next doctors appointment this Friday, May 9th at 3:30pm.  Maybe we will have more pictures to post. :)
