Week 37-Full Term

Well, we are officially full term as of Saturday, September 27.  We are all hoping the baby is very comfortable inside and not planning to make an appearance until AT LEAST Wednesday night,  October 1, 2014.  Scott left today for a four day conference in Chicago where he will be presenting a paper on Wednesday.  This is the annual AREMA Conference.  (American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association) Scott and a co-worked have been selected to present a paper at this conference about a current project they are working on in Denver.  After he returns from his trip on Wednesday, we will be all set for the baby to come.  I am very fortunate that my mom and dad have come to stay with me while Scott is gone just in case I go into labor.  They will be here visiting until after the baby is born.

I am very happy to report that I have been feeling well and have not had any migraines.  Hope that continues.  The third trimester sure has been awesome, and I really have been blessed with how well I have felt.  This past week i week on several walks for a few miles.....very nice!

Not a good day for the Steelers but I wanted to post a 37 week picture.

Have a great week! We have our next prenatal appointment this Friday at 3:20pm

Week 36, getting closer

This week was not as great as the last.  I think I have come down with a stomach bug of some sort.  It began on Friday night, I did not get any sleep, I was up all night with pain and discomfort in my stomach.  I will spare you the details, but it is still going on.  I went to the doctor yesterday and she didn't seem to worried about it.  The heartburn is still very bad everyday and every night.

We went to our "Baby Business Class" on Saturday, where we got to tour the maternity ward and ask questions about the delivery.  It is a very nice hospital and we really are looking forward to delivering baby Henning there.  After our tour of the hospital we got all checked for "Baby's First Ride".  This is a service provided to us by the hospital to check to make sure that the car seat is installed in your car correctly.  They also show us how to properly put a child in the seat so that you do not have them in too tight or too loose.  Thanks to my engineer husband, our car seat was installed perfectly!! The lady was very impressed with how well it was installed and did not take much time with us.  Here is a picture of Scott at Baby's First Ride.

Yesterday I was still not feeling well but Scott and I spent the entire day together which was very nice.  We started the day with our 36 week appointment at the OB's office, which went great.  The baby's head is down and it is getting ready to join us in the world in a few short weeks.

After the appointment we ran a few errands and then ate some delicious pancakes at our favorite spot downtown.

After breakfast Scott had a meeting at work so he scheduled me a prenatal massage.  After I was done with my massage I found out that  his co-workers threw us a Price Is Right Baby Shower during the lunch hour.  So I went over and enjoyed that.  They all brought us books for baby Henning's Library, very sweet!  We came home and Scott grilled us a few steaks and then we went to our Breastfeeding class at the hospital.

Crazy to think I will be full term in just 3 days! Looking forward to welcoming baby Henning into the world! We already love our little bundle so much!

Week 35

Hello everyone!

I am sorry that week 35 is a week late, but I am happy to report that week 35 was great.  I felt really good and I worked quite a bit.  I subbed at my favorite school, North Star Elem. all week and had volleyball practice or games every night. So by the time I got home I was pretty tired.  Subbing was good and my high school girls JV volleyball team did well.  We started the season 4-0, but have been playing some tough teams up in Ft. Collins and Loveland this past week.

Here are some pictures from week 35.  We had some friends over to watch football and enjoyed the weekend feeling pretty good.

34 weeks down, 6 to go!

Well it was a good run without a migraine but I am sad to report they are back.  I started feeling a migraine come on Sunday evening and did my best to fight it on Monday, but by that evening it was full blown migraine status.  I am two days in with no sign of relief.  I am trying anything and everything: heat, ice, apple cider vinegar, rest, pain meds, fluids. Hopefully it will not last very long.

Scott and I had a great time this past weekend at our birthing class.  We took a class at the hospital where we will be delivering which was very informative.  We both feel much more prepared for the delivery of baby Henning.  I also feel much more comfortable with my decision to try to deliver without having pain meds or an epidural.  In the class we learned a lot of labor exercises to help fight through the pain and get through the contractions.  We have a few more classes to take but Scott and I continue to feel more and more ready for the big day.  It is hard to believe we have less than 6 weeks until the due date.

We have officially set the date for baby Henning's baptism.  The baby will be baptized by Father Phil Henning in San Antonio, Texas at St. Dominick's Catholic Church on November 24, 2014 at 10:00am.  Scott and I will be taking baptism classes this Saturday in Denver to prepare for the November Baptism.

Hope you all have a great week.  Here are some pictures from our birthing classes and also a few pictures of daddy putting together the stroller for baby Henning that was purchased for us by a good family friend, Nancy Yoshida.  Thanks Nancy, we love it!

Headed to the first day of class!

Day two of class in front of the hospital.

7 weeks left

Happy to report I am still feeling great and have not had another migraine! I can feel myself getting bigger and I know little Henn is getting bigger and stronger.  It is hard to believe that we are just 7 weeks away from out due date.  I feel like the baby will be here before we know it.

Scott took Daddy Boot camp last weekend which is a class for new dad's.  He really enjoyed it and learned alot.  We start our birthing classes, breastfeeding classes, and hospital tours this weekend.  We are very excited to learn all about the birth process.

This past week/weekend Scott went to South Carolina to see the Texas A&M Aggies beat up on South Carolina in the SEC opener.  I was very lucky to have my good friend Aspen and her daughter Zoey here for the week and my Aunt Evie came for the weekend.  It was so much fun to have a girls weekend.  We had a great time shopping and getting the babies room ready.  Thank you to Aunt Evie and Aspen for coming out and spending the week with me.

I hope all of you are doing well and I will update the blog again next week!

Love,
Scott, Kendra and Baby Henning
